🔥 William Nylander’s 2 goals and assist lead Toronto past Dallas 5-4. The Leafs’ leading point producer blasted a power play one-timer just over six minutes into the 1st period to open scoring before setting up John Tavares’ 2nd period one-timer goal followed by sniping off the rush for his 2nd goal of the night, and eventual game-winner, just 20 seconds after Mitch Marner scored his 22nd of the season midway through the 3rd period. Auston Matthews scored his league-leading 41st goal off a flukey bounce, extending his point streak to eight games (8 goals, 5 assists). Read more →
✌️ Jimmy Vesey scores twice, Rangers smother Lightning 3-1. The Boston, Massachusetts native scored a gorgeous short-side backhand goal just 75 seconds into regulation for his 11th of the season before sealing the Rangers win with an empty-netter with 61 seconds remaining in the 3rd. Jonny Brodzinski one-timed a Chris Kreider feed to the back of the net late in the 1st period for what proved to be the game-winner, Barclay Goodrow had two assists, and Jonathan Quick made 18 saves for a .947 save percentage in the Rangers 3rd straight win to sit atop the Metro Division. After fighting Jarred Tinordi midway through the 2nd period, the 32-year-old forward redirected a beautiful Vinni Lettieri feed midway through the 3rd for his 9th goal and 3rd game-winner of the season to break the 1-1 tie. Vinni Lettieri, playing in his 1st game since December 30th, also setup Jacob Lucchini’s 1st period one-timer goal to earn 1st star of the game.
