Good morning.

Sorry fam, but I made a mistake in yesterday’s poll question, suggesting Crosby and Co. were playing the Canucks last night while they actually faced off against the Coyotes.

Don’t worry, I’ve already sent myself to the penalty box…

Today’s lineup:

  • Toffoli completes hat trick in OT

  • Demko shuts out the Blackhawks

The Scarborough, Ontario native made a beautiful deke to the middle of the ice and snapped one high blocker early in the 2nd, cut to the middle of the ice again, but this time from the left side, and sniped five-hole in the dying seconds of the 2nd, and quickly caught and released a Luke Hughes feed midway through overtime to secure the 6th hat trick of his career and the Devils win. "We basically played a beer league game," Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. "We thought it was preseason, I guess. We didn't defend to our structure, our principles at all. The plays we made right up to the last goal were careless, disrespectful to the game. At the end of the day, we lose and it's what we deserve if we're going to play like that."

Last night, Demko made 31 saves to record his 5th shutout of this season, tying him with Connor Ingram and Tristan Jarry for the most in the NHL. Pius Suter finished a beautiful Andrei Kuzmenko spinning backhand pass for his 9th of the season and eventual game-winner just 1:47 into regulation, and Quinn Hughes sniped his 12th of year less than 5 minutes later. The former 1st round pick buried a rebound with just 5:25 remaining in regulation for his 12th goal (2nd shorthanded goal) of the season, extending his goal streak to three games. Jakub Lauko opened scoring just 2:20 into regulation, Charlie Coyle tipped home his 17th goal of the year late in the 1st period, which proved to be the game-winner, and B’s captain Brad Marchand scored an empty-netter for is 21st tuck of the season.
