Tampa’s captain and all-time goal leader opened scoring with a power play one-timer just 77 seconds into the 1st before scoring a hat trick in the 3rd, including batting his 2nd of the night out of the midair, for the first four-goal game of his illustrious NHL career. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 53 saves as the Lightning ended the Oilers win streak at eight. Nikita Kucherov had a goal and two assists for 50 points through 30 games while Tyler Motte and Anthony Cirelli added goals for the Lightning. Read more →

🚨 Kent Johnson scores twice including OT snipe, Blue Jackets recover to beat Leafs 6-5. The 21-year-old forward assisted on Patrik Laine’s goal to open scoring and redirected an Andrew Peeke feed off the post and in for his 1st goal of the night midway through the 1st, before burying the OT winner for the 1st three-point game of his budding NHL career. Justin Danforth, Yegor Chinakhov, and Johnny Gaudreau scored in the 2nd as Columbus watched the Leafs erase a 5-goal lead in the 3rd period to force overtime. Read more →

🎯 Matt Boldy scores in regulation and shootout, Wild edge Flames 3-2. The Massachusetts native made the Flames pay for a sloppy 1st period turnover, picking the top right corner over the glove of Calgary’s Dan Vladar for his 8th goal of the season and 5th in his last five games. Marco Rossi ripped a slapshot off a rebound just under five minutes into the 3rd for his 10th goal of the season to the tie the game at 2-2 and force overtime.
