Preds score twice in final minute to defeat Avalanche
Lightning tie it late to beat Bruins in OT, Rasmus Andersson completes 3-point night in OT, and more.
Good morning. Does anyone have the direct line to Gary Bettman’s office? The Hockey Recap readers have spoken!
Extending 3-on-3 overtime to 10 minutes received the most votes (41.2%) in yesterday’s poll with the idea of extending OT until someone scores and eliminating the shootout entirely coming in a close 2nd (35.3%). Only 23.5% of you want to keep the OT-shootout rules the way they are.
My two cents: the game of hockey isn’t a series of breakaways so why award meaningful regular season points by shootout? Extend 3-on-3 regular season overtime until someone scores… although I think I’d prefer 4-on-4.
Friendly reminder that we’ll be back in your inbox Thursday morning. 🦃
