💰 The Utah Hockey Club secures Dylan Guenther with an eight-year, $57.14 million extension, keeping him with the team through the 2032-33 season. Guenther, 21, will carry a $7.14 million annual cap hit as a core player for the former Arizona Coyotes. General Manager Bill Armstrong praised Guenther’s evolving elite shot and strong character. The Edmonton, Alberta native was drafted ninth overall in 2021 and posted 35 points (18 goals, 17 assists) in 45 NHL games last season. He’s now the longest-signed player in the organization, surpassing Mikhail Sergachev’s 2031 deal. "This is a very happy day for me and my family," Guenther said. "Everything about this organization is on the right track, and I know we have an opportunity to do some special things here for a long time. 🧡🖤 Philadelphia Flyers coach John Tortorella invites Guy Gaudreau, father of the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, to assist at training camp this week. Gaudreau, a former hockey coach, helped with drills at Monday's practice, receiving heartfelt appreciation from the Flyers. Tortorella hopes to bring Gaudreau back to camp as a therapeutic experience for him, saying, "We just want to help." The gesture follows the tragic loss of his sons in August, when they were struck by a suspected drunk driver. Tortorella attended their funeral and expressed his desire to support the family.
