🏆 Connor McDavid reaches 900 points, collects five points in Oilers 5-2 win over the Flyers. The reigning Hart Trophy winner scored a dazzling end-to-end rush to open scoring for his 14th goal of the season before assisting on goals by Zach Hyman, Leon Draisaitl, and two goals by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to record a point on all five Oilers’ goals. McDavid became the fifth-fastest player in NHL history to reach 900 points thanks to a beautiful behind-the-back pass to setup Hyman for his 22nd of the season. 🚨 Nathan MacKinnon snipes in overtime, Avalanche rally to beat the Islanders 5-4. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native one-timed a Cale Makar feed to the back of the net just 32 seconds into overtime to complete the Avs’ come-from-behind win over the Islanders. The Avs battled back from 3-1 and 4-3 deficits to force overtime. Valeri Nichushkin scored twice, Devon Toews and Jonathan Drouin added goals, Cale Makar collected three assists, while MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen registered two helpers each. The Avalanche sit 1 point back from the Boston Bruins for 1st place in the NHL. Read more →
🚫 Martin Jones shuts out former team, Leafs blank Kings 3-0. The 33-year-old veteran netminder collected 31 saves against the franchise who gave him his 1st opportunity in the show, earning his 30th career shutout as the Leafs snapped a three-game losing streak. William Nylander opened scoring with his 18th of the season just over five minutes into the 2nd period, burying a sweet Tyler Bertuzzi feed before adding an empty netter. Tyler Bertuzzi also setup Calle Jarnkrok’s 2nd period tally, this time passing the puck with only one glove on. The Leafs sit 3rd in the Atlantic. Read more →
