A whopping 71% of yesterday’s poll voters believe Jaromir Jagr would’ve surpassed Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goal record had his NHL career not been shortened by two lockouts and three seasons in the KHL.

Of course, we’ll never know but it’s a great topic to stir a locker room or bar debate.

☝️ Leon Draisaitl leads Oilers to 1st win with new coach, Oilers beat Islanders 4-1. The 28-year-old German-native tied the game at 1-1 late in the 1st before registering three consecutive assists in the 3rd period en route to the Oilers 2nd straight win and 1st under new head coach Kris Knoblauch. Connor McDavid had a goal and assist, Zach Hyman and Evander Kane added goals, and Stuart Skinner collected 32 saves for a .970 save percentage as the Oilers handed the Islanders their 5th straight loss. 🍎 Nathan MacKinnon racks up three assists, Avalanche down Kraken 5-1. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native setup Mikko Rantanen, Jonathan Drouin (his 1st goal as a member of the Avalanche), and Valeri Nichushkin to earn his “playmaker patch.” Cale Makar and Mikko Rantanen each had a goal and an assist, Tomas Tatar and Devon Toews each had two assists, Ross Colton scored his 4th of the season, and Alexandar Georgiev made 18 saves as the Avalanche move into sole possession of 2nd place in the Central Division, three points behind the Dallas Stars.
