👑 Kings make history, shutout Canadiens 4-0 for 11th consecutive road win to start the season. Drew Doughty opened scoring and added an assist on Trevor Moore’s 3rd period tally. Quinton Byfield continued his hot hand, assisting Doughty’s goal and scoring two of his own, including a beautiful late 1st period rush where the 21-year-old forward beat the Habs defenseman wide before tucking the puck inside the far post. Anze Kopitar had 3 assists and Cam Talbot made 24 saves as the Kings broke the 2006-07 Buffalo Sabres record for road wins to start a season. Read more →
🚨 Mikael Granlund scores OT winner, Sharks rally to spoil Patrick Kane’s season debut with 6-5 win. Granlund already had two assists by the time he buried a Fabian Zetterlund feed just 37 seconds into OT to seal the Sharks win. The 2nd period of this game was the most epic period of NHL hockey this season with the Wings scoring 4 straight in 4 minutes and 35 seconds only to have the Sharks score 4 goals of their own in 5 minutes and 29 seconds to tie the game at 4-4. Larkin gave the Wings a lead in the 3rd before Tomas Hertl tied it at 5-5 late to force OT. Read more →
🚫 Casey DeSmith makes 26 saves, Canucks shut out Wild 2-0. Despite being outshot 26-17, Vancouver’s 32-year-old netminder improved to 5-2-1 on the season, earning his 1st shutout as a Canuck and 10th of his NHL career while handing the Wild their first loss under head coach John Hynes. Nils Hoglander scored his 9th goal of the season late in the 1st period which proved to be the game-winner and third-line-center Teddy Blueger scored a beauty just two minutes into the 3rd for his second of the year as the Canucks remain tied with the Kings for 2nd in the Pacific.
