🎯 Justin Barron snipes 1st OT winner, Canadiens down Jets 3-2. Manning the top of the Habs’ power play unit, the 22-year-old defenseman accepted a Cole Caufield pass before snapping a wrister past the glove of Jets’ netminder Connor Hellebuyck 1:09 into the overtime period to seal the Canadiens’ second consecutive win. Josh Anderson collected a goal and an assist, Christian Dvorak scored his 3rd of the season, and Jake Allen made 30 saves for his first win since Oct. 28 (0-6-1 in previous seven starts). ⭐️ Matt Duchene leads charge with 3 points, Stars beat Kraken 4-3 in overtime. The Haliburton, Ontario native entered the game on a three game point streak (2G, 2A) and extended it to four, scoring two beautiful one-timers in regulation before setting up defenseman Thomas Harley for the backdoor overtime tap-in for the win. Jason Robertson scored his 10th of the season, Joe Pavelski collected two assists, and Scott Wedgewood made 35 saves as the Stars win gives them 40 points, tying them with the Avalanche for 1st place in the Central Division. 🐧 Sidney Crosby breaks tie, Penguins recover to defeat the Wild 4-3. Despite establishing a 3-goal lead just over three minutes into the 2nd period thanks to goals by Reilly Smith, Jake Guentzel, and Evgeni Malkin, the game was all tied up at 3-3 by the time Penguins’ leading scorer and long-time captain Sidney Crosby buried an ugly rebound on the power play just over six minutes into the 3rd period for the game-winner. Pens’ rookie Valtteri Puustinen recorded his 1st multi-point NHL game, collecting 2 assists, and Alex Nedeljkovic made 24 saves in the win. Read more →
