📈 Sidney Crosby climbs all-time scoring list, Pens rally to beat the Canadiens 4-3 in 12-round shootout. The 36-year-old superstar continued his torrid start to the season, registering points on all three of the Pens regulation goals, scoring twice and assisting on Jake Guentzel’s power play tally. His 1st point of the night tied him with Paul Coffey (1,531) on the NHL’s all-time scoring list and his 3rd point moved him into a tie for 13th all-time with Mark Recchi (1,533). ✈️ Gabriel Vilardi scores career-high 4 points against old team, Jets rally to defeat Kings 5-2. The Kingston, Ontario native collected three 2nd period primary assists, setting up Nikolaj Ehlers twice followed by Mark Scheifele’s 1st of the night and eventual game-winner. Not done there, Vilardi buried a backhand to the top right corner in the 3rd period for his 4th point in his 1st game at Los Angeles since being traded from the Kings to the Jets on June 27th. Ehlers also finished with 4 points, Scheifele added an empty netter, & Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves in the win. Read more →
🚨 Jack Hughes scores OT winner, Devils down Bruins 2-1. The explosive 22-year-old center accepted a Jesper Bratt centering pass and snapped the puck under the left arm of Bruins’ netminder Jeremy Swayman for his 6th career overtime goal 2:47 into the extra period. Devils’ forward Dawson Mercer forced overtime, batting a rebound out of midair 2:34 into the 3rd period to the tie the game at 1-1.
