✌️ New Jersey Devils start the 2024-25 season 2-0 with Global Series sweep over the Sabres. Despite being outshot 31 to 23, Jacob Markstrom made 30 saves in his Devils’ debut Friday, while Stefan Noesen, Johnathan Kovacevic, Nico Hischier, and Paul Cotter scored to secure a 4-1 win. After falling behind 1-0 to a Tage Thompson goal Saturday, rookie Seamus Casey tied the game with his first NHL goal on a power play. Paul Cotter gave the Devils a 2-1 lead in the third period, assisted by Jack Hughes, who also set up Timo Meier’s insurance goal. 💵 Boston Bruins sign Jeremy Swayman to an eight-year, $66 million contract, just days before the season opener, ending a contentious negotiation period. The deal follows last year’s arbitration process, which awarded Swayman $3.475 million, an experience he openly disliked. The 25-year-old netminder missed training camp but ultimately secured a contract with an $8.25 million average annual value, making him one of the NHL’s top five highest-paid goalies. Swayman shared duties with Linus Ullmark last season but became the Bruins' No. 1 goalie during the playoffs.
