🍾 The Minnesota Wild ink defenseman Brock Faber to eight-year, $68 million extension. The Maple Grove, Minnesota native impressed in his rookie season collecting 47 points (8 goals, 39 assists) while playing in all 82 regular season games, setting single-season franchise records for assists, blocked shots (150), and TOI (24:58) by a rookie. After tallying 53 points over 97 games across three seasons with the Minnesota Gophers (NCAA), the 21-year-old defenseman lead all NHL rookies in time on ice and blocked shots. Faber earned NHL Rookie of the Month honors in January, finished second in Calder Trophy voting to the Blackhawks’ Connor Bedard, and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. 💰 The Philadelphia Flyers sign All-Star forward Travis Konecny to an eight-year, $70 million extension, securing him through 2033. The 27-year-old lead the league in shorthanded goals (6) last season while setting career highs with 33 goals — his 2nd straight 30+ goal campaign — and 68 points. Drafted 24th overall by the Flyers in the in 2015 Entry Draft, Konecny has recorded 174 goals and 226 assists for 400 points over the span of 564 regular season games. Starting in the 2025-26 season, Konecny will be the Flyers' highest-paid player, counting $8.75 million against the cap. Konecny called the decision a "no-brainer," praising the team's direction. Father time has nothing on Jaromir Jagr as 52-year-old commits to another season of pro hockey! After leaving the NHL in 2017, the NHL legend joined the Kladno Knights, his own team in Czechia, where he typically joins the club mid-season. However, for the 2024-25 season, Jagr plans to play every game thanks to training “full time,” leaving the veteran feeling fitter and more energized than ever.
