Good morning. We’re not off to our finest start as 56% of yesterday’s poll voters predicted a Detroit Red Wings victory last night.
Apparently, no one told Miro Heiskanen as he had a big game last night — more on that below.

🚨 Bo Horvat scores in overtime, Islanders salvage 4-3 win over the Maple Leafs. The London, Ontario native buried a Mathew Barzal sauce pass just 46 seconds into OT for his 10th goal of the season. Brock Nelson tied the game at 1-1 midway through the 1st before Casey Cizikas and Kyle Palmieri scored to give the Isles a 3-1 lead just 70 seconds into the 2nd. The Islanders won their 3rd straight and improved to 5-0-1 in their last six games. Former Islander John Tavares reached 1,000 points thanks to a 2nd period goal and an assist on Morgan Rielly’s tying goal. Read more →

⭐️ Miro Heiskanen’s three points power Stars over Red Wings 6-3. The 24-year-old defenseman got the Stars on the board with a power play snipe in the 1st period before assisting on Joe Pavelski’s 3rd period tally and adding an empty netter for his 2nd goal and 3rd point of the night. Jason Robertson and Esa Lindell each had a goal and an assist and Matt Duchene added a goal as the Stars won their 11th consecutive home game over Detroit since January 2017. Jake Oettinger made 27 saves as the Stars leapfrogged the Jets for 2nd place in the Central Division. Read more →
