CAN’T MISS 🎯
🥇 Auston Matthews sets record with 50th goal, Maple Leafs beat the Coyotes 6-3. The American sniper wired a wrister just five minutes into regulation last night to record his 50th goal in just his 54th game of the season, becoming the fastest US-born player to reach 50 goals. Matthews previously shared the record with Kevin Stevens, both scoring 50 in 62 games. The Long Beach, NY native dangled and buried his 9th goal of the season 3:10 into overtime last night — the 6th overtime goal of his career — to extend his point streak to 5 games (3 goals, 4 assists). The Bruins built a 4-1 lead midway through the 2nd thanks to goals from Morgan Geekie, Brad Marchand, Trent Frederic, and Jake DeBrusk. David Pastrnak scored in the 3rd as the Oilers mounted a heroic comeback to force overtime. Jeremy Swayman made 37 saves as the B’s leapfrog the Panthers for 1st place in the East. Read more →

🦬 Alex Tuch scores shorthanded, Sabres rally past Canadiens 3-2. The 27-year-old winger took advantage of a Mike Matheson blunder, pouncing on a loose puck at center ice before racing down the ice on a breakaway and beating the Habs’ Sam Montembeault glove-side for his 16th goal of the season, his 3rd short-handed tuck of his career, and team-leading 15th game-winner since 2021-22. Zemgus Girgensons scored his 5th of the year early in the 2nd, Jeff Skinner added his 18th of the season five minutes later, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 29 saves in the Sabres’ win. Read more →
