🚨 Auston Matthews scores 30th of season in overtime, Leafs rally past Ducks 2-1. On his 13th shot of the night (🤯), the American sniper one-timed a Mitch Marner feed past the glove of Ducks’ Lukas Dostal 2:12 into OT to become the 1st player this season to hit the 30-goal mark, and the first Leaf since Frank Mahovlich in 1960-61 to score 30 goals in 35 games or less. After a shutout the night before, Martin Jones had another stellar game collecting 27 saves and a .964 save percentage. 🎯 Nico Hischier scores twice adds an assist, Devils defeat Capitals 6-3. The 25-year-old Devils’ captain came ready to play last night, burying a rebound just 3:03 into the 1st, scoring his 2nd of the night 6 minutes later, and assisting on Dawson Mercer’s 2nd period tally. Dawson Mercer and Michael McLeod each scored twice, Nico Daws made 23 saves, and Alexander Holtz and Erik Haula each had two assists as the Devils have won four of their last five. Veteran forward Max Pacioretty made his Capitals debut, playing his 1st NHL game in nearly a year since re-tearing his Achilles. Read more →

🌎 The World Junior Championship continues today, with the tournament’s host, Sweden taking on Czechia at 9 AM ET followed by USA playing Finland at 1:30 PM ET. Sweden looks to avenge last year’s 2-1 overtime semifinal loss to Czechia. USA enters this afternoon’s game as the favorite although Finland brings confidence and momentum, having won two big games in a row, against Sweden and Slovakia. The winners will compete for the gold medal tomorrow at 1:30 PM ET. Read more →
